Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as a American rapper and singer, making sly songs that addressed topics like racial or sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer could release a number of songs. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Following her Jazz and classical training She delved into hip-hop in her teen years. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. The focus changed to music only after she graduated. Following her viral success via the Internet and her own track My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually was included on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her travel guide for 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after completing her first two projects, as an author and musician. As well as early shows like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
