Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. Kotero was also co-starring in Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain. Her most well-known work is her role in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain as well as being the singer-in-chief of Apollonia 6, a girl group. In the 1980s, the singer-actress Prince named Apollonia became just one of many female musicians that gained by their connection with him. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress, born in Santa Monica in 1959. Her early career included acting as a model for television. In 1984, she was cast as the leading lady in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period of time, he also changed her name.) Her replacement was Vanity of the female group Vanity 6 who starred in the movie with Apollonia 6 under their name. The three scored a minor hit with Sex Shooter but it was as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved more of an impact on charts. The relationship between Kotero and Prince ended when the pair disagreed on her career direction. Apollonia 6, the group that she belonged to was ended up splitting. Kotero was in a few minor films during the time, but reportedly declined to take part in her role in the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. Between 1985 and 1986, she was offered a role on the show called Falcon Crest. Apollonia made her debut in 1988 but the fairly pedestrian set of songs that incorporated dance/R&B did not impress people who buy music and the album soon vanished off the shelves. Apollonia continued to act (if somewhat unnoticed) during the subsequent decade. Her small TV roles small films and exercise videos kept her busy. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album called Stay with Me. When she returned to school, she received an associate's degree in filmmaking and established her own business. Apollonia Kotero wears many hats. She has worked as a model, singer-actress and the talent manager. Purple Rain, the 1984 film in which she appeared is her most famous performance. Some other films and television shows she was in included Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She participated in numerous pageants. Kotero was crowned Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. She began her career in the late 1980s. Apollonia Kotero (born in New York City) is an American actress, performer and model. Aside from Purple Rain she also appeared in other movies. Her popular films are Back To Back Black Magic Woman La Donna di una Sera and Cattive Ragazze. The American actress is famous for her appearance in music videos by stars like Ray Parker Jr. Kotero, a multi-media entertainment company established by Kotero Entertainment founder and entrepreneur is also a thriving businesswoman.
