Cindy Crawford

CindyCynthia Ann Crawford, born February 20, 1966, is an American model, actress and a TV star. In the 1980s and 1990s she was among the most popular supermodels , and a ubiquitous presence on runways and magazine covers as well as on fashion shows. She subsequently expanded into acting and business ventures. In her sophomore year in high school, she was contacted by an inquiry from a local retailer for modeling jobs but was later informed that it was a prank played by two of her fellow classmates. However, the following year, another retailer hired a number of high school girls, including Crawford as a model, to work for them (including shooting a fashion show). In her senior year, local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college student to be the week's coed in the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph her for the publication. The result was Crawford's debut cover. Crawford was inspired to try modeling after the favorable feedback and photos she received. She began working with a small modeling agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after signing. When she was 17 years old, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest and reached the finals at national level.
